Maritza Tunchez, age 55, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Corpus Christi, Texas.
She was born on October 4, 1963 to Manuel “Meme” Tunchez and Elva Trevino Tunchez. Maritza was the owner of Unique Touches. Maritza enjoyed participating in her organization Stop Bullying and loved to decorate and paint furniture. She enjoyed playing Bingo and was involved in politics with her husband David. She will always be remembered for her service in the community, devotion to family, her love for her grandchildren and her big heart for the hungry and poor. Maritza was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elva Trevino Tunchez and Manuel G. Tunchez. Martiza passed away on her mother’s 23rd death anniversary.
Martiza is survived by her husband, David J. Acuna; her children, Eric Lee Tunchez, Elaine Marie Tunchez, Marcus Anthony Tunchez; her brothers, Mario Tunchez, Manuel (Donna) Tunchez, Marvin Tunchez; her grandchildren, Eric Lee Tunchez Jr., Vivianna Margarita Reyes, Austin Tunchez, Brianna Sotello, Princess Tunchez, Nathaniel Tunchez, Michael Zamora Jr., Katalina Grace Tunchez; niece and nephew, Erica Lynn Tunchez, Justin Felix Tunchez; her cats, Christopher, Simon and her dog, Lilly.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7 pm that same evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
